What are API keys?
An API key is a code used to identify and authenticate an account or user. API Keys are how Sandwich knows which exchange and which accounts to interact with.
API stands for “application programming interface”.
API is a technology that enables communication and interaction between different software applications. In simple terms, an API is a messenger that takes requests and tells a system what you want it to do — and then returns the system’s response back to you.
A trading API, as the name suggests, allows you to interact remotely with your crypto exchange account and manage it from your Sandwich account. More specifically, it allows you to synchronize data and execute trading orders.
Sandwich’s API connections are particularly useful for traders with multiple exchange accounts, since all operations and data are aggregated in the same system and interface.

Sandwich stores all your API key information locally on your PC, which means no one can access it as long as your PC is secure, but it also means we are unable to access or retrieve this information for you.
